The General Liability Non-Litigated Claims department is comprised of a team of General Liability Claims Supervisors, Specialists, Video Technician’s, Video Technician Team Leads, QRE Analysts, and Administrators who handle both customer and attorney-represented non-litigated claims. This team oversees all aspects of investigation, analysis, negotiations, and settlements, in compliance with procedural guidelines, best practices, as well as Medicare reporting requirements.

The General Liability Non-Litigated Manager provides management and direction, development, implementation, and execution of Publix’s strategy for non-litigated general liability claims; identifies trends in claims, oversees customer response systems and processes, providing industry leading customer service; uses analytics and research to identify trends. The nature of these claims is non-litigated, including attorney represented claims and customer claims.

Hybrid work environment: many of Publix’s corporate offices offer work from home up to two days a week.

As the General Liability Non-Litigated Claims Manager, you will:

  • Manage the overall handling of non-litigated claims which includes non-litigated attorney represented claim and self-represented customer claims including complex or higher exposure general liability and/or auto claims where the customer may or may not be represented by legal counsel.
  • Mitigate risk using cost-benefit analysis.
  • Collect, and analyze department metrics, company reports, and external information for decision making purposes.
  • Ensure proper claims documentation and reporting, and action plan to ensure a smooth claim case from assessment to disposition. .
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized claims handling protocols, quality assurance criteria, and KPIs which reflect associate and unit performance and monitoring performance against established criteria and KPIs.
  • This position is responsible for ensuring the non-litigated unit is aligned with the corporate strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent experience
  • 7 years general liability claims handling experience with 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to obtain Florida All Lines Adjuster License upon hire as well as reciprocal licenses for all the states that Publix operates in
  • Basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related discipline or master’s degree in any discipline
  • 10 years of general liability claims handling experience with 5 years of supervisory experience
  • CCLA, SCLA, CPCU or ARM designation
  • Actively hold Florida All Lines Adjuster’s License

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
