Join the Point-of-Sale Modernization team as a technical software engineer. We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical, planning, problem-solving, writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will effectively communicate with management, peers, technology vendors, and business unit customers.
Location: Hybrid (Lakeland, FL): To support our hybrid work model, candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.

Your Impact
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications for the POS platform, ensuring performance, reliability, security, and scalability
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other engineers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Implement new features and functionalities to enhance the capabilities of the point-of-sale
- Assist with production installs, pilot monitoring, and problem determination
- Work closely with quality assurance and testers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, bug-free software solutions that will enhance customer experience
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies that may be applied to the point-of-sale
- Ensure the code you develop meets security and compliance policies
- Participate in and be an advocate for Test Driven Development

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
- 1+ years of experience developing and supporting enterprise applications
- 1+ years of experience in analyzing and creating SQL statements and stored procedures with SQL Server
- 1+ years of experience developing applications in C# using the .NET framework
- 1+ years of experience developing web-based user interfaces for modern user interfaces such as Blazor REACT or Angular
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years coding experience
- 3+ years of experience developing and supporting enterprise applications
- 2+ Experience developing WebAPI’s using the .NET framework
- Knowledge of infrastructure-related systems client/server, workstations, servers, networks, and database
- Experience supporting retail applications
- Knowledge of PCI and HIPAA regulations
- Experience with source control (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git, TFS)
- Experience with Angular or another TypeScript-based UI framework
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience developing applications using Python and PyTorch
- Ability to work concurrently on multiple assignments with similar deadlines

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
