Description

The purpose of this position is to extract, examine, research, audit and correct critical data regarding associates’ punches, absences, and driver’s pay received from all time systems to ensure all Publix associates are paid properly and benefit quotas are accurately allotted. Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing, validating, and maintaining time records for all associates
  • Ensuring all Publix Paid Time Off (PTO) Benefits are accurately and consistently enforced
  • Validating accuracy of benefit quotas and time flowing to the Payroll Processing team
  • Authenticating each Publix associate’s payroll records, including punches and absences, and adhering to established internal and external guidelines (i.e. HIPAA, ICCT Narrative, governmental regulations, and Human Resources Compensation).

Required Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related field or its equivalent in experience
  • 3 years of experience in an analytical position
  • Ability to prepare, summarize and present fact-based information to other associates, other business areas, and to management
  • Ability to accurately make decisions without supported policies or procedure to support out of the ordinary decisions
  • Ability to facilitate training to various levels of Publix associates
  • Professional and able to handle extremely confidential and sensitive information at all times
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize a large volume of work to meet rigid deadlines
  • Ability to self-manage daily priorities and work independently as well as within a team
  • Superior mathematical and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines and complete a high volume of work accurately
  • Ability to react quickly and in a calm, professional manner when situations arise affecting any facet of the payroll time process
  • Ability to comprehend, apply new concepts, and have a strong understanding of technologies, as well as in a testing environment
  • Excellent customer service delivery skills
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality record
  • Knowledge of SAP or other related Finance systems
  • Intermediate skills in Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Basic skills in Word and SharePoint
  • Working knowledge of CQI methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management
  • 5 years of experience in an analytical position
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
