Description
The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Real Estate business area in the delivery of projects to introduce new technology, testing of new and existing technology, data & reporting needs, education & training on technology solutions, and first-level support for incidents and problems with existing systems. Responsibilities include facilitating and participating in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the departmental organizations as well as ensuring that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values. This individual will assist project teams with technical issues in the initiation and planning phases of project management which include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions. Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operational activities within the project life cycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Facilitating and/ or participating on cross-functional project teams to design, develop and implement applications and technology solutions for the Real Estate department
- Facilitating and reporting outputs from testing including data integrity, scripting, defects, and failure procedures
- Providing support related to incidents, problems, planned outages, and known errors for all existing systems and technology solutions utilized by the Real Estate department
- The development of gap solutions using available technologies, including the Office o365 tools available to assist users when their processes cannot easily or quickly be incorporated into a core Real Estate Solution
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Database Design or Administration or other analytical discipline or equivalent experience (if applicable)
- 2+ years’ experience providing technology and systems support or 2+ years’ experience in Real Estate
- Employing a standard, structured root cause analysis methodology
- Conceptual understanding of and practical knowledge of relational database system design and administration
- Strong working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), both waterfall and agile methodologies, with the ability to work within the defined roles and responsibilities
- Knowledge of identifying and supporting process improvements.
- The ability to self-direct work activities and take action on tasks without direction from a supervisor; ability to undertake new tasks as work is completed without being told to do so; ability to use the resources available to complete a task; proactively following through on tasks to ensure appropriate progress is made and the task is completed
- The ability to manage time so that the priority of the activities determines the timing and amount of attention they receive

- Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Basic skill level in Microsoft Access
- Knowledge of Office o365, including SharePoint, PowerApps, and Power Automate
- Availability to take Day trips and local travel
- Availability to work nights and weekends as business needs require
Preferred Qualifications
- 4 years’ experience in supporting a variety of software applications
- Project Certification
- Knowledge of Information Technology (IT) systems and infrastructure within the Real Estate organization
- Advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Tririga/Compass, Publix Property Portal, Request Center and SAP

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November.
In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
