Join the Publix Technology team as a Lead Business Systems Analyst where you will be part of a fast-paced team working on the point-of-sale system. You will play a key role interacting with enterprise teams and product management to analyze and write user stories to develop features that consider user experience, accessibility, performance, quality, cross-system interdependencies, and scalability. Under general guidance, this position is responsible for developing project plans, managing projects, monitoring project performance, and developing implementation plans for highly complex technology solutions.
The most suitable hire for this position will be a technical candidate with strong analytical, planning, problem solving, writing, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business unit customers.
Location: Hybrid (Lakeland, FL). To support our hybrid work model, candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.

Your Impact
- Provide strategic leadership for the analysis, development, and delivery of the Publix point-of-sale system, ensuring operational excellence and reliability.
- Oversee the point-of-sale project and collaborate with engineering teams. Ensure all deliverables adhere to security and architectural standards as well as established departmental methodologies and practices.
- Plan and coordinate team projects by optimizing resource allocation and defining key milestones to ensure alignment with business objectives and technology requirements.
- Cultivate and sustain effective partnerships with business area representatives to ensure alignment on strategic direction, prioritization, and development initiatives.
- Maintain productive relationships with vendors to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Ensure timely communication and escalation of critical system incidents to Technology and business area management, maintaining appropriate awareness.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of business systems analysis experience
- 5+ years of business experience planning, organizing, and leading solution delivery efforts in a large-scale distributed environment
- 5+ years of business experience analyzing complex problems and translating them into scalable technology solutions
- 5+ experience working in an Agile environment utilizing Azure DevOps or similar tools
- Strong working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and proven ability to lead within defined roles and responsibilities
- 5+ years of experience identifying, designing, and supporting business process improvements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working as a Scrum Master within an Agile Scrum framework and its application in product development and delivery
- Experience utilizing Agile project management and code management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps or Jira)
- In depth SQL query knowledge
- High level understanding of technologies such as .Net, Angular, and C#
- Scrum Master Certification (CSM)

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
