Description

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative and claims support to 63 claims adjusters including their leadership as it relates to business matters for the General Liability claims department for both litigated and non-litigated claims.

The responsibilities list on this position analysis are not intended to be all inclusive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities include:

  • Providing claims support to both the litigated and non-litigated teams
  • Printing, scanning disks or thumb drives to verify no threats on receipt of demand packages, route demands to appropriate consultants and/or upload demand for review
  • Providing support to Supervisors, Managers or Sr. Manager for ad hoc projects assigned including data corrections, spreadsheet assignments and any other assistance needed
  • Preparing initial draft of non-litigated settlement documents to be reviewed by adjusters before transmittal to customer or attorney

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year of general office experience
  • Written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively without close supervision or guidance
  • Ability to set priorities, plan and coordinate work activities, schedule staff, and obtain and manage resources so that work objectives are accomplished on time and within budget
  • Ability to manage time so that the priority of the activities determines the timing and amount of attention they receive
  • Ability to attend to and verify the accuracy and completeness of detailed information in documents or on the computer, such as prices, quantity, weights, lists or data
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, positive, and productive working relationships with associates, managers, customers, and vendors
  • Ability to create an environment in which a positive and professional service orientation is evident to internal customers
  • Ability to orally present and express ideas and information clearly, politely, and concisely, in a manner appropriate to the audience
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, understandable, and professional written text in English, using appropriate level of detail for the intended audience, and following the basic rules of spelling, grammar, and punctuation to convey information
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Word
  • Basic skill level in Risk Management Claims System
  • Basic skill level in Clerk of Courts websites (varies by jurisdiction)
  • Availability to work extended hours.

Additional Required Qualifications


Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education or trade school
  • 1 year of clerical support experience in a claim’s office
  • Certifications in Medical or Legal field
  • Bilingual – fluent Spanish
  • Must be proficient in Word and Excel to create documents and spreadsheets, generally utilizing pre-existing templates.
  • Must be proficient in Outlook to send, received and reply to emails regarding departmental affairs
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Excel
  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
