Description
The Talent Acquisition department at Publix develops and implements strategies to ensure stores, offices, warehouses, and manufacturing facilities are staffed with highly qualified associates. Within the department, the Employment Branding Specialist develops, directs, and manages employment branding and recruitment advertising campaigns to brand Publix as an inclusive employer and great place to work.
In Publix’s corporate offices, we value in-person interactions, similar to those our store associates have with customers. Many of Publix’s corporate offices offer work from home up to two days a week. Each business area implements their policy differently and should be discussed during interviews.
Responsibilities include
- Strategizing and implementing Publix’s employment branding strategy, in alignment with our company brand and employee value proposition, on digital and social channels and traditional media outlets.
- Creating, organizing, and posting (or coordinating the posting) of all public-facing recruiting content on Publix careers-related social media and traditional media channels.
- Gathering and analyzing data and metrics to set benchmarks and determining the efficiency and effectiveness of employment branding efforts and specific recruitment marketing campaigns as well as the strength of Publix’s overall employment brand.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience
- Two years of social media community engagement in support of a professional, large brand OR
- Two years marketing, communications, branding and/or public relations experience with campaign development, creation of marketing communication plans, and/or campaign management
- 1 year of copywriting experience, or equivalent coursework
- Knowledge of social media administration including crisis communications
- Knowledge of marketing media planning and measurement principles, processes, tools, techniques and marketing communications planning
- Knowledge of digital marketing and social media communications platforms and their advertising capabilities
- Knowledge of economic and marketing research
- Knowledge of search engine optimization and search engine marketing
- Knowledge of digital and social media analytics
- Knowledge of social media community management
- Knowledge of desktop publishing and best practices
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen carefully to understand another person’s point of view
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
- Organizational and time management skills
- Strong digital imaging and desktop publishing skills
- Research and analysis skills
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint skills
- Intermediate skills with Adobe Creative Suite including Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Basic Internet search capabilities
- Willingness to be accessible and work as needed during holidays, weekends and nights and have the ability to work extended hours
- Willingness to travel when business needs dictate
Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of
- Experience defining, tracking, and analyzing metrics (such as market area demographics, social media, search engine optimization, etc.) or
- Digital marketing experience or
- Experience developing employment branding strategies and related communications messaging for print, broadcast, and digital media channels or
- Project management experience to execute on multiple projects that involve both internal and external resources or
- Experience in Human Resources, Recruitment, and/or relevant coursework.
- Google Certification in Digital Marketing
- Knowledge of best practices in employment branding
- Have a high-level understanding of employment law
- Knowledge of best practices in recruiting
- Knowledge of a wide variety of recruiting strategies and when to use them
- Knowledge of recruiting technologies such as applicant tracking systems, job boards, resume databases, internet sourcing tools
- Strong analytical skills
- Project management skills
- Basic skills with ATS (BrassRing, TAG, AMS)
- Intermediate Internet search capabilities

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
