Description

Processing of workers compensation medical claims, including adjudication of claims to meet state laws, data entry of bills, filing of bills, correspondence, and all other duties to make sure that bills are handled and paid in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s degree Or equivalent experience
• 1-year general office with experience with Windows based programs
• National Certification for CPT Coding
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes
• Knowledge of multiple state Worker’s Compensation Fee Schedules for the states in which Publix does business in
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, power point, access and Outlook
• Must have excellent attendance and punctuality record
• Professional telephone etiquette
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle a large volume of work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks
• Data entry experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of office equipment and their operation
• Good human relation skills (the ability to work well with others and to be a team player)
• Must show enthusiasm, initiative and pride in work, and

Preferred Qualifications

• BS degree or certificate of completion of a medical terminology or medical billing program
• 1 year in medical or insurance services, with advanced knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 codes, and knowledge of medical terminology
• Bilingual in English and Spanish

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
