Description
The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for the administrative and HR functions of the department, which include:
- Executing the day-to-day administrative and HR functions of the department
- Staffing, managing, and training the direct report positions, including development, counseling, and performance evaluations
- Ensuring the weekly payroll process is completed accurately and timely, including TOR’s, TPASS and payroll functions
- Executing and administering Publix Corporate and Industrial Operations policies, procedures, and guidelines,
- Training or notifying the Director and other department managers of new or revised policies and other Publix Corporate or Industrial Operations communication
- Tracking, reporting, and analyzing HR related data on a routine basis and special requests from department managers and/or Corporate Manufacturing
- Serving as department contact to Industrial Operations Personnel, Policies, Pay and Time Team regarding HR related issues, including participating in or leading projects
- Coordinating the Associate Voice Survey and annual Performance Evaluation Process for department hourly associates
- Serving as department contact to other Publix departments for HR/Administrative related issues
- Assisting in the scheduling, planning, and coordination of department meetings
- Driving improvement within the Administration Department
- Conducting new associate orientations
- Assisting the Director and other department managers on special projects
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or its equivalent or equivalent experience (if applicable)
- One year experience using Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access)
- Ability and willingness to demonstrate eagerness, enthusiasm, optimism, and passion when working
- Ability and willingness to adjust one’s style or approach in response to differing circumstances or to work in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work effectively without close supervision or guidance
- Ability to self-direct work activities and take action on tasks without direction from a supervisor

- Ability to manage time so that the priority of the activities determines the timing and amount of attention they receive
- Ability to attend to and verify the accuracy and completeness of detailed information in documents or on the computer, such as prices, quantity, weights, lists or data
- Ability to effectively resolve problems
- Ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, positive, and productive working relationships with associates, managers, customers, and vendors
- Ability to find, develop, train and retain associates whose skills best align with the needs and objectives of the organization
- Ability to orally present and express ideas and information clearly, politely, and concisely, in a manner appropriate to the audience
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, understandable, and professional written text in English
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours

- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
