The Corporate Communications department at Publix spearheads internal communications and press releases, publishes monthly newsletters and annual benefits notices, handles department-specific communications, and manages digital content for Publix’s internally facing platforms.
Within the department, the User Experience (UX) Content Designer/Writer will deliver compelling and interactive associate experiences, primarily for our new SharePoint intranet. The role also supports the Senior UX Content Designer by adhering to the content strategy, and writing and developing content to smoothly guide associates toward an intended goal and facilitate the experience of using technical solutions. Ideal candidates are flexible and adaptable, take initiative, and can lead by influence. Additionally, candidates must demonstrate high customer focus and possess excellent time management skills to meet needs quickly and effectively.
What you’ll do
- Champion, write, and deliver content for a targeted, digital platform that provides feedback and helps guide users through an experience, including microcopy, error messages, user notifications and calls to action
- Manage the content delivery and publishing process
- Discuss content strategy development and innovation and quality improvement ideas
- Execute reporting and share results with stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least one year of content development experience for digital channels
- Experience working in a content management system
- Knowledge of communication and UX design principles
- Knowledge of different communication channels and platforms and how people typically interact with them
- General knowledge of the Publix brand
- Knowledge of the English language (grammar, punctuation, syntax/structure)
- Experience writing conversational content
- Basic skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Ability to understand and apply new information, procedures, or principles to perform job duties
- Ability to understand the big picture and the interrelationships among various parts of the organization, including the impact of changes in one area on another area
- Ability to attend to and verify the accuracy and completeness of detailed information and produce work that is complete and free of errors
- Ability to effectively resolve problems
- Ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, positive, and productive working relationships
- Ability to use active listening techniques to ensure the understanding of information provided by the speaker, and display interest in the topic discussed
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Willingness to travel
- Willingness to work a variable work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as business needs require (typically for crisis communications)
Additional Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years’ experience developing content in a communications or public relations environment
- One or more years’ of UX writing experience
- Knowledge of Publix and corporate communication objectives
- Knowledge of department and company organizational structure, including roles and responsibilities of key associates
- Basic skills with a content management system
- Basic skills with Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- UXC or UXMC (user experience certification or master’s certification)

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
