We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead and contribute to complex, data driven development initiatives. In this role, you will design and build modern data solutions leveraging enterprise databases, cloud platforms, change data capture technologies, and AI enabled capabilities to support largescale data and analytics objectives.
You will collaborate closely with software engineering teams, solution architects, and cloud engineering partners to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality data solutions. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership skills and a passion for simplifying complex systems through automation and intelligent technologies.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record of designing and delivering enterprise grade software, influencing technical direction, and mentoring others while driving innovation across datacentric platforms.

Your Impact

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- 4+ years with Oracle Exadata or similar RDBMS, including advanced SQL, performance tuning, and data modeling
- 4+ years providing technical leadership through design, code reviews, and mentoring
- Proven expertise optimizing large, complex SQL queries and execution plans
- 3+ years developing PL/SQL (procedures, functions, triggers)
- 3+ years scripting in Unix/Linux environments
- 3+ years applying quality engineering practices (testing, automation, defect management)
- 2+ years developing enterprise Java and microservices-based applications
- Strong ability to translate business and data requirements into scalable, secure solutions
- Demonstrated experience designing systems for performance, reliability, and scalability
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Experience delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure (core platform services and secure deployments supporting data workloads).
- Experience implementing or supporting change data capture (CDC) patterns/tools (e.g., GoldenGate or equivalent) to move data reliably from source systems to downstream platforms.
- Experience designing cloud-based data architectures (secure, scalable, cost-aware patterns for lake/warehouse/pipeline solutions).
- Experience applying AI/ML or Generative AI in engineering workflows.
- Experience with modern data security, governance, and compliance practices in regulated or enterprise environments
- Experience using CI/CD and modern DevOps practices (automated builds, deployments, version control, code reviews, and release management)

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
