Join Publix Technology as a Sr Quality Assurance Engineer and become part of the Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) Configuration team, designing, building, and implementing a robust application that supports Publix growing distribution network of 10 Distribution Centers and 33 warehouses. High-level WMS functions include receiving and putting away product, managing inventory, processing, and selecting store orders, shipping and loading product, and integrating product movement with host systems.
In this role, you will lead the planning, coordination, and execution of testing WMS configuration and supporting application functionality, ensuring solution quality throughout configuration, integration, and rollout implementation phases.
You will analyze business and functional requirements, define acceptance criteria, and partner closely with functional, development, integration, and vendor teams to execute functional, system, regression, and automation testing.
Location: Hybrid (Lakeland, FL): To support our hybrid work model, candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.

Your Impact
- Lead end‑to‑end testing for modern warehouse management solutions
- Establish and implement quality assurance processes and testing strategies
- Embed QA throughout the delivery lifecycle, from design through implementation and stabilization
- Participate in business process and design sessions to refine requirements, define test scope, and estimate effort
- Estimate testing effort across configuration, integration, and rollout implementation phases
- Derive test scenarios from business requirements, designs, and technical documentation
- Create and manage test cases, test sets, and scripts using Azure DevOps
- Create and execute manual and automated tests validating end‑to‑end warehouse workflows
- Build and maintain automation frameworks for regression and integration testing
- Execute test cycles, validate results, and enforce release quality gates
- Drive defect triage, tracking, and resolution with development teams and vendors
- Report test status, quality metrics, and go/no‑go recommendations to stakeholders
- Perform hands‑on testing using warehouse and retail handheld devices
- Support Agile delivery with frequent, incremental production releases
- Lead performance testing to ensure scalability, reliability, and throughput
- Leverage AI tools to drive productivity improvements across the systems development lifecycle

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software testing and quality assurance experience
- 4+ years of experience writing and executing manual and automated test cases for feature sets on various applications, including websites, using ALM, Azure DevOps, Jira, etc.
- 4+ years of experience developing testing software frameworks and developing test scripts using industry standard programming languages like C#, Python
- 3+ years of experience writing SQL queries and performing database validations
- 2+ years of experience performing as a “gate keeper” by providing test result summaries and recommendations to the project team to pass or fail a test cycle/release
- Experience mentoring and leading Quality Assurance Engineers on QA best practices and developing automated test cases
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years creating automation test strategies and general experience writing automation scripts using industry standard programming languages
- Experience with implementing, testing, or supporting modern WMS software packages, e.g., Blue Yonder, Infor, Körber, Manhattan Associates, SAP, etc.
- Hands‑on experience in testing WMS product workflows
- Experience designing and developing automation frameworks with Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Bruno, etc.
- Experienced with .NET test automation frameworks such as NUnit and xUnit
- Competent in both manual and automated testing of REST, SOAP, and JSON APIs using tools like Postman, SoapUI, and automation libraries such as Rest Assured and RestSharp
- Familiar with development tools like Visual Studio IDE, Eclipse, and IntelliJ
- Experienced in utilizing Microsoft Azure DevOps for Test Plans, Repos, and Pipelines, including the integration of test automation frameworks into CI/CD pipelines
- Adept at conducting performance testing for APIs, backend systems, and user interfaces
- Ability to work concurrently on multiple assignments with similar deadlines
Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
