Join the Publix Technology team as a Sr Business Systems Analyst and play a key role in our Warehouse Management System (WMS) modernization initiatives within the WMS Data and Customization team. In this fast‑paced role, you will gather and analyze business and system requirements, define user stories, design solution approaches, and refine the product backlog while helping drive alignment on solution scope and constraints. You will collaborate closely with product owners, quality assurance, architecture, and systems engineering teams to deliver reporting solutions and custom extensions that meet business objectives while ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, and scalable.

Location: Hybrid (Lakeland, FL): To support our hybrid work model, candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.

Your impact:

  • Facilitate requirements sessions and document business/system needs with stakeholders
  • Champion product vision, prioritize backlog, and track deliverables for timely completion
  • Communicate project and product status to leadership and stakeholders
  • Manage relationships with software vendors as needed
  • Collaborate with analysts to document processes, gather requirements, and identify improvements
  • Partner with Architecture, Security, Compliance, and Audit to design secure, reliable solutions
  • Develop detailed implementation plans for complex technology solutions
  • Diagnose issues and define escalation paths for complex problems
  • Oversee delivery processes: system access, data protection, and vendor engagement
  • Define acceptance criteria, conduct UAT, and validate deliverables
  • Advocate for business needs to ensure solutions meet user and process requirements
  • Monitor industry trends and recommend innovative solutions aligned with strategy
  • Provide after-hours deployment support, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate vendor resolutions
  • Obtain agreements on purpose, scope, and limitations on proposed technology solutions with vendors, business areas, and other technology teams under minimal guidance
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, prioritize and refine the product backlog, remove impediments, mitigate risks, and support successful sprint delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years business experience planning, organizing, and managing all activities associated with delivering solutions in a large-scale distributed environment
  • 5+ years of experience analyzing problems and translating into solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience working with enterprise database management systems (e.g., SQL server, Oracle)
  • 3+ years’ experience utilizing Agile project management and code management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps or Jira)
  • 3+ years’ experience translating complex business needs into clear technical requirements and user stories
  • Working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) with the ability to work within the defined roles and responsibilities.
  • Provide after‑hours deployment support as needed, including issue analysis, root cause identification, workaround development, and coordination with vendors for resolution
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools to improve requirements analysis, documentation, and delivery efficiency

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of business systems analysis experience
  • Experience managing 3rd party vendor relationships
  • Experience of warehousing processes and reports
  • Experience performing data analysis through creating and executing queries, interpreting results, and communicating findings to technical and business audiences
  • Experience with collaboration tools, like MIRO
  • Experience serving as Scrum Master using Scrum framework best practices

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
