Bring your technical expertise and passion for developing others to Publix as a Senior Maintenance Trainer, where you’ll help prepare our technicians to safely and confidently support the critical systems and equipment that keep our operations running.

In this role, you’ll deliver technical maintenance and refrigeration training across classroom, virtual, and field-based environments. You’ll prepare technicians to safely diagnose, maintain, and repair industrial and retail refrigeration systems, bakery and deli equipment, and related maintenance systems. Combining deep mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration expertise with exceptional instructional design, development, and facilitation skills, you’ll help shape scalable technical training programs that strengthen our technician pipeline and support business growth.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivering technical training to technicians using effective instructional strategies and facilitation techniques that promote engagement, knowledge transfer, and skill application
• Ensuring associates can perform their responsibilities safely and effectively while supporting operational and business objectives
• Supporting the development and continuous improvement of maintenance technical training curricula by designing courses, updating training materials, supporting pilots, and providing subject matter expertise during course design and development
• Assessing technician capabilities
• Providing coaching and developmental feedback to support technician readiness and progression

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position
• Five years of experience in a maintenance related field, retail refrigeration, and/or delivering maintenance training
• Three years’ experience explaining technical concepts, coaching others, or supporting hands-on skill development
• Must be at least 20 years of age to operate a company vehicle
• Knowledge of training delivery practices
• Knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry standards, State Safety Statues, local municipal regulations
• Knowledge of maintenance and refrigeration principles, including mechanical, electrical, commercial/retail refrigeration, industrial refrigeration, and related troubleshooting concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in a maintenance related field, retail refrigeration, and/or delivering maintenance training
• Five years’ experience explaining technical concepts, coaching others, or supporting hands-on skill development
• EPA Universal Certification
• Knowledge of adult learning theory, methodologies, and techniques
• Knowledge of Publix’s internal safety policies and procedures (on the job training and/or prior experience)
• Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Experience using Emerson Ultrasite Connect + or similar refrigeration controller software

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
