Within our Human Resources department, the leadership development team creates and implements leadership development tools and programs that teach and promote strong leadership and teambuilding skills at various levels within Publix.
What you’ll do
- Consult and partner with business area leaders (i.e., officers, directors, and department heads) to analyze existing leadership and team dynamics and provide targeted and customized individual, teambuilding, and intact team development programs
- Create and implement in-person and virtual instructor-led training and workshops, computer-based trainings, job aides, and visuals
- Manage and maintain established Leadership Development (LD) programs and offerings and making recommendations for updates and additions to the overall LD curriculum for all leadership levels and business areas across the company
- Serve as the subject matter expert on leadership and teambuilding strategies for business areas and leaders within Publix
- Manage training development and implementation, and provide input on the work of other consultants
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources, Adult Education, Business, Communication, Education, Leadership Development, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, or any related social science/analytical field
- Two years of experience in creating effective leadership training initiatives
- Knowledge of instructional design principles and practices
- Knowledge of project management/QIP methodologies
- High degree of maturity and ability to engage in difficult and confidential conversations with business leaders and Officers
- Strong analytical abilities, especially ability to independently exercise sound judgment
- Ability to use research methodologies and effective interviewing techniques
- Exceptional writing abilities
- Ability to be creative
- Interpersonal skills
- Ability to visualize the big picture and think outside of the box
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
- Willingness to participate and lead a variety of project teams on a myriad of leadership topics
- Ability to work extended hours and occasional nights/weekends

Additional Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources, Adult Education, Business, Communication, Education, Leadership Development, Organizational Development, I/O Psychology, or any related social science/analytical field
- Three years of experience in creating effective leadership training initiatives
- Two years of project management experience
- One year of Publix retail experience
- Knowledge of trends within the supermarket industry and an understanding of current trends in leadership development, learning theory, and learning practices and how they all relate to projects / initiatives Publix is working on
- Knowledge of Publix Structured Writing Standards, including knowledge of MS Word templates and Publix templates
- Knowledge of Corporate Retail Business Unit (RBU) structure and knowledge of support departments and their general functions (high-level)
- Knowledge of retail job class system and the Leadership Development Curriculum (and a high-level knowledge of general retail structure and operations)
- Demonstrate a commitment to developing Publix leaders and providing the tools to assist leaders develop other leaders

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
