As a Senior Platform Security Engineer team member, you will bring your unique set of skills and perspectives to become a subject matter expert responsible for the management of in-place cybersecurity solutions and the identification and implementation of product enhancements or new solutions. You will serve as a trusted resource to advise, aid, and protect the enterprise technology systems (computer, mobile, OT, networks, or data), the Publix brand, and our customers and business partners against internal and external cyber threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide project management for security efforts and tooling to include requirements development, evaluation, proof of concept, vendor selection, design, installation, configuration, tuning, and creation of program, policy, and process documentation.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and maintenance tasks for enterprise on-premises and cloud provider/SaaS security products, such as file integrity monitoring software, next-gen antivirus/XDR solutions, intrusion detection, endpoint detection and response software, forensics or sandboxing software, elevated privilege management software, enterprise endpoint management software, automated posture assessment tooling,
  • Serve as a hands-on technical expert working directly with business areas and teams to provide guidance and ensure solutions adhere to security best practices and standards.
  • Perform periodic or on-demand internal and third-party reviews and assessments to ensure that applications, networks, and infrastructure components adhere to security standards and policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Assurance, or other related disciplines, OR equivalent experience and industry advanced/expert level certification(s)
  • 4+ years of systems administration on Windows, Linux/Unix, and macOS operating systems – including secure configuration of these operating systems via scripts, policies, and/or baselines in a traditionally segmented and zero trust architected environment.
  • 4+ years of experience in a role providing tier three technical support or system administration for large corporate enterprise management or security tools.
  • 4+ years with project management, installation, and configuration of COTS and custom software in a medium to large environment
  • 4+ years of working with common communication/security protocols, and security concepts such as confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • 3+ years of experience with complex automation deployment and scripting tools including PowerShell and/or Python.
  • 3+ years of with technical documentation writing
  • 2+ years of experience with a CSP (Microsoft, GCP, AWS) or SaaS provided solutions.
  • 1+ year experience with one or more of the following: PCI-DSS, SOX, HIPAA

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more of the following industry certifications: ISC2 (CCSP,SSCP, CISSP-ISSAP/ISSEP/ISSMP concentrations preferred), GIAC/SANS certifications (GSEC, GCIA, GCWN, GCED, GCCC, GDAT, GDSA, GISP, GSE)
  • 6+ years of systems administration on Windows, Linux/Unix, and macOS operating systems – including secure configuration of these operating systems via scripts, policies, and/or baselines in a traditionally segmented and zero trust architected environment.
  • 6+ years of experience in a role providing tier three technical support or system administration for large corporate enterprise management or security tools.

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
