Description
The purpose of this position is to analyze, process, and report regulatory food safety inspection information and pest control data with retail and key support. The position will elevate and facilitate timely support of urgent food safety or pest-related concerns. The position is also responsible for supporting the detailed review of monthly pest control invoices, working closely with the service provider, retail food safety team and various key internal customers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyzing, processing, and reporting regulatory food safety inspection information and pest control data with retail and key support
- Elevating and facilitating timely support of urgent food safety or pest-related concerns
- Supporting the detailed review of monthly pest control invoices and
- Working closely with the service provider, retail food safety team, and various key internal customers.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- 1 year of experience in an office administration position, with data review, interpretation, and reporting experience
- Safe Mark or equivalent – Food Safety Manager Certification (can be acquired through Publix over the first year within this position)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to remain flexible and calm in stressful situations and handle highly confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to prioritize work, work under deadlines, and handle a high volume of work accurately
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and contribute in a team setting
- Enthusiasm, initiative, and pride in work
- Ability to have attention to detail
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Adobe Acrobat
- Accurate computer typing skills at 40-50 wpm
- Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
- Must be adaptable to change and have a positive outlook and drive for anything out of the daily course of business
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Business, Communications, or Food Safety
- 3 years of experience in an office administration position, with data review, interpretation, and reporting experience
- 2 or more years’ experience in an office administration position with data review, interpretation and reporting experience
- 2 years of food retail experience (i.e. grocery, restaurant)
- NEHA Certified Professional – Food Safety (CP-FS)
- Ability to become familiar with the company structure, the responsible parties, and their primary roles
- Ability to become familiar with the applicable Retail Manager References Library (MRL), RBUs Reference and Procedures (R&P) Guides, Retail Preparedness Guide (RPG), other Publix food safety related materials, the current FDA Model Food Code and state food standards
- Working knowledge of the regulatory inspection process along with other routine and non-routine regulatory processes
- Ability to be familiar with all pest control standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to become familiar with the processes for addressing food safety, sanitation and pest control related concerns as supported by our service providers
- Publix Retail experience
- General food safety knowledge

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
