Description
The purpose of this position is to perform all of the functions related to procurement to support Facilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing various procurement functions for warehouse replenishment, replacement equipment, parts, tools, consumables, raw materials, and projects for facilities
- Quoting, sourcing, bidding for parts, raw materials, tools, and consumables
- Procuring equipment, small parts, raw materials, specific approved items for planned activities (projects, new stores, remodels, etc.), and replacement retail items for Facilities
- Building and maintaining professional and ethical relationships with current and potential suppliers
- Working with master data and material master on maintaining accurate vendor and material information
- Performing various clerical functions
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Two years’ experience in a customer service or analytical field
- One year experience in purchasing using SAP or equivalent ERP software
- One year experience using an inventory management system
- Knowledge of Facilities warehousing procedures
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Knowledge of Facilities equipment
- Knowledge of business management principles
- Knowledge of supplier selection process
- Ability to inspect, cleanse, transform and model data from various sources with the goal of discovering useful information/trends, informing conclusion and supporting decision-making
- Ability to attend to and verify the accuracy and completeness of detailed information in documents or on the computer, such as prices, quantity, weights, lists or data
- Ability to develop and maintain professional, trusting, positive, and productive working relationships with associates, managers, customers, and vendors
- Ability to create an environment in which a positive and professional service orientation is evident to internal customers
- Negotiation skills to deliver clear expectations to our suppliers and negotiate the best pricing, quality, and customer service that Publix can receive
- Sound decision making and analytical skills to convert raw data into accurate reporting needed to make clear, concise decisions
- Ability to base decisions and recommendations on facts, knowledge, and experience to change processes, identify performance issues and operational opportunities
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Intermediate knowledge of SAP
- Supply chain knowledge
- Communication skills – written and verbal
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, overtime, and holidays
- Intermediate knowledge of SAP, Smartsheet, SharePoint, and internet
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher in a business related field
- Two years’ experience in purchasing using SAP or equivalent ERP software
- 3 years experience in a customer service or analytical field
- 2 years experience using an inventory management system
- 1 year Facilities experience
- Knowledge of retail equipment
- Knowledge of facilities products and services
- Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement
- Knowledge and understanding of company and department policies, processes, and procedures
- Working knowledge of Publix department structure
- Knowledge of facilities master data
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Access

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay
