Description
The purpose of this position is to support the management of Publix pharmacy’s inventory in all retail locations, central fill pharmacies, and the pharmacy warehouse to ensure that pharmaceutical demand is consistently met and that shrink is reduced, when possible
- Ensuring optimal inventory throughout the enterprise, including 1300+ retail facilities, two central fill facilities, and the pharmacy warehouse
- Managing the pharmacy unsaleable returns process
- Managing and optimizing the pharmacy 340B program
- Ensuring compliance with the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), a Federal Law to maintain sufficient stock of eligible safe products at the pharmacies, thereby providing optimal patient care
- Responding to pharmaceutical recalls
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or other disciplines with Retail Pharmacy experience OR
- Equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position
- At least 2 years of experience in a financial, analytic, or technical role
- At least 2 years of combined experience with any of the following: Access, Excel, Tableau, SQL, Power BI, and/or database development
- Knowledge of the pharmacy industry – To work closely with pharmacy suppliers, pharmacy accounting & 340B vendors to resolve credit discrepancies
- Ability to identify and analyze key information from multiple sources
- Ability to effectively resolve problems; identify and analyze key information from multiple sources; determine the root causes and find solutions to eliminate them; proactively anticipate potential problems and implement or modify systems to prevent their occurrence
- Ability to attend to and verify the accuracy and completeness of detailed information in documents or on the computer, such as prices, quantity, weights, lists or data
- Ability to prepare clear, accurate, understandable, and professional written text in English, using appropriate level of detail for the intended audience, and following the basic rules of spelling, grammar, and punctuation to convey information
- Ability to self-direct work activities and take action on tasks without direction from a supervisor; ability to undertake new tasks as work is completed without being told to do so; ability to use the resources available to complete a task; proactively following through on tasks to ensure appropriate progress is made and the task is completed
- Intermediate skill level of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
- Basic skill level of Microsoft PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, or other disciplines with Retail Pharmacy experience OR
- Equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position
- 3 years’ experience as a business analyst with a pharmacy or healthcare related company
- General knowledge of the retail pharmacy business model including knowledge of distribution, healthcare laws and regulations – To analyze various reports/data and how the information drawn from these reports/data impact the business. Also, to ensure decisions are compliant with laws and regulations
- Advanced skill level of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access
- Experience using the following computer applications:

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
