Description
The Manager of Retail Security Solutions participates in the leadership of the Retail Security Solutions department. This primarily involves making recommendations and overseeing the selection, coordination, and deployment of physical, electronic, and human security countermeasures for all retail locations. This position also has leadership responsibilities, as they relate to Organized Retail Crime (ORC).
The purpose of this position is to participate in the management of the retail security solutions program. This primarily involves making recommendations and overseeing the selection, coordination, and deployment of physical, electronic, and human security countermeasures for all retail locations. This position is also responsible for the co-management of Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Specialists that respond to ORC threats and protect the profitability of the brand. The incumbent oversees investigations of ORC activities with the intent of eliminating illegal ORC fence operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Contributing to the management and oversight of the retail security solutions program by making recommendations that impact the overall security of all retail locations.
- Communication and cooperation with other business units and external customers.
- Providing leadership, subject matter expertise, and specialized counsel to the select specialists assigned to Organized Retail Crime (ORC).
Required Qualifications
- 2 year degree in criminal justice OR equivalent technical certification or equivalent combination of formal training/certification and professional work experience that demonstrates the prerequisite competence to perform the duties of this position.
- 5 years’ experience as a retail loss prevention specialist, or equivalent law enforcement experience working with investigations of multilevel criminal organizations
- Be at least 20 years old with a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position)

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related field
- 8 years of loss prevention management experience with 5 years supervisory/multi-store management experience
- Loss Prevention Foundation LPQ (Qualified), LPC (Certified), ASIS PCI (Professional Certified Investigator) or CPP (Certified Protection Professional)
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Knowledge of the techniques and limitations of stationary, mobile, and electronic surveillance
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system, ORC, and investigation processes
- Knowledge of Publix retail operations from a store level
- Basic Microsoft Access skills
- Intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint skills
- Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Knowledge of Ariba and LPMS suite

Year End Bonus
As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
