Join our Store Accounting Modernization team and play a key role in driving and shaping modernization of our enterprise Store Accounting system. As a Lead Business Systems Analyst, you will collaborate with talented professionals to design, implement, and optimize data-driven systems that provide profitability reporting and enable enterprise decision making. This role will serve as the critical bridge between our technical team and business stakeholders, translating complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7+ years of experience leading a team to deliver and support complex technology solutions that are high quality, reliable, secure, and stable.

Your Impact 

  • Act as a product champion by defining vision, roadmaps, and priorities to ensure on‑time delivery
  • Lead Agile requirements gathering and translate business needs into clear technical solutions
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to design and implement secure, SOX‑compliant systems
  • Manage risks, remove impediments, and refine sprint backlogs
  • Communicate product and project status to leadership and stakeholders
  • Deliver and support solutions leveraging AI, Azure Databricks, and BI tools
  • Collaborate with Business Systems Analysts to document processes and drive business value
  • Define solution scope and gain alignment across business and technology teams
  • Troubleshoot complex issues, manage escalations, and support on‑call rotations as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience analyzing and translating complex enterprise business improvements, problems, or processes into detailed business requirements and user stories for technology solutions, with consideration for system performance, usability, quality, cross-system dependencies, scalability, and total cost of ownership
  • 5+ years of experience planning, organizing, and managing all activities associated with delivering solutions in a distributed environment
  • 5+ years of experience working with enterprise database management systems inclduing writing complex queries using SQL
  • 5+ years of experience implementing large-scale data manipulation processes
  • 5+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment using Azure DevOps or similar tool for all development related activities and reporting
  • 3+ years of experience with various diagramming techniques (e.g., UML, flowcharts, or entity relationship diagrams)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of experience as product owner or project lead performing business systems analysis
  • Continued education and certifications in various technical disciplines
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger, OpenAPI)
  • Experience in gathering frontend requirements within Angular or similar modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Knowledge of UX design principles and user research methodologies
  • Background in creating user journey maps and wireframes
  • Understanding of event-driven architecture principles and message queuing systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Experience in implementing enterprise solutions using platform services like Azure App Service, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, and/or Azure Databricks
  • Experience with Power BI and/or other business intelligence tools
  • Experience with test automation
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working with financial systems requiring adherence to regulatory and compliance controls in accordance with company policies and standards

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
