The Accounting Automation & AI Team is a newly formed team focused on automating complex business processes and applying AI to reduce repetitive tasks that require cognitive reasoning. In this role, you will serve as a technical and analytical leader, collaborating with business and technology teams to evaluate business processes, define system and automation requirements, and design innovative solutions leveraging AI and intelligent automation. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with exceptional analytical, planning, development, and problem-solving skills who excels at communicating effectively with management, peers, technology vendors, and business customers.

Your Impact

  • Analyze complex business processes and gather requirements for enterprise-grade technology solutions with a focus on automation, workflow efficiency, regulatory compliance, and process improvement
  • Lead and facilitate application requirements and solution design meetings using Agile and traditional methodologies
  • Translate business needs into comprehensive functional, technical, and system requirements documentation
  • Partner with architects, developers, and vendors to design, validate, and deliver automation and AI-enabled solutions
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and primary point of escalation for assigned applications and solutions
  • Mentor and guide business systems analysts on best practices for requirements analysis, system design, and documentation standards
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation and process improvement using emerging technologies
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide leadership during system validation, release, and production support activities

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of business systems analysis experience
  • 5+ years of business experience planning, organizing, and leading solution delivery efforts in a large-scale distributed environment
  • 5+ years of business experience analyzing complex problems and translating them into scalable technology solutions
  • 5+ years of business experience working with enterprise database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Strong working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and proven ability to lead within defined roles and responsibilities
  • Experience identifying, designing, and supporting business process improvements
  • Experience working in an Agile environment utilizing Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Experience promoting collaboration and teamwork, leading by example, and contributing to the productivity and morale of the team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of business experience in systems analysis
  • 9+ years of business experience planning, organizing, and managing enterprise solution delivery in a large-scale distributed environment
  • 9+ years of experience leading implementation solutions, resolving delivery bottlenecks through requirements hardening, risk mitigation, and timeline management
  • Working knowledge of Automation and AI technologies, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Agentic AI, Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and deterministic and probabilistic modeling techniques
  • Knowledge of modern cloud-based system architectures, including Azure and Google Cloud platforms
  • Experience performing advanced data analysis by creating and executing queries, interpreting results, and communicating insights to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience with project management, change management, and enterprise systems development methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives concurrently while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery
  • Experience supporting data and process governance for accounting systems in compliance with company policies, standards, and SOX requirements

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
