In this role you will be responsible for leading the SAP platform team. In this role you will manage, guide, mentor, and develop associates to reach their full potential, guide the technical direction of the team to meet the strategic and tactical goals of our SAP/S4HANA, be accountable for managing the budget, schedule, and resources for large projects and smaller tactical efforts, and resolve complex issues before they escalate.

Location: Hybrid (Lakeland, FL): To support our hybrid work model, candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.

Your Impact:

• Lead the SAP Platform team, with responsibility for SAP Basis, SAP Security, SAP BW/Analytics, and related technical platform capabilities.
• Oversee SAP platform operations and reliability, including system administration, monitoring, upgrades, patching, refreshes, performance, disaster recovery, and lifecycle management.
• Provide leadership for SAP security and access management, including role development, authorizations, security controls, vulnerability remediation, compliance, and audit support.
• Lead the SAP BW and analytics platform strategy, including ongoing BW operations and modernization toward BW/4HANA.
• Partner with enterprise data and architecture teams to advance the SAP analytics and data strategy, including governed sharing of SAP data with the enterprise data lake.
• Manage resources, priorities, and delivery across production support, maintenance, tactical initiatives, and strategic projects, balancing operational stability with modernization priorities.
• Develop associates, technical capabilities, and platform roadmaps while partnering effectively with application teams, infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, audit, vendors, and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business Management, Engineering, or other analytical disciplines or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of IT experience, including development, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale integrated solutions
• 3+ years of experience delivering solutions in S4HANA
• 2+ years of experience with developing, configuring, and supporting large scale applications within a 24/7 environment.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in which one or more of the following occurred:
  • Demonstrated leadership in IT project management.
  • Experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation, involving internal personnel, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives.
  • Successfully developed and implemented or supported applications in new SAP environments using new and emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multidiscipline, high-performance work teams.
  • Developed efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems.
• Extensive experience in delivering solutions using cloud technologies, deployment, and management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading technical teams supporting SAP S/4HANA or other large-scale SAP environments, with a solid understanding of SAP Basis, HANA, security, and platform operations.
• Working knowledge of SAP BW/4HANA, enterprise analytics, and data integration, with exposure to modern data lake/lakehouse architectures preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading a mix of production support, technical maintenance, projects, platform modernization, and strategic initiatives.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security, access governance, compliance, vulnerability management, and operational risk in a large technology environment.
• Strong people leadership, stakeholder management, vendor management, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics for business and Technology leadership.

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
