The 2026 Summer program dates are May 18th – July 24th at our company facilities in Lakeland, FL. Over these 10 weeks, interns will work 40 hours a week participating in impactful departmental projects that connect classroom learning to real-world corporate experience. Highlights include:
- Free housing provided in partnership with Florida Southern College (for interns that live outside of a 25-mile radius of the corporate office).
- Attending executive meetings.
- Participating in group community service activities.
- Touring manufacturing and distribution facilities.
- Developing and delivering end of program presentations to Publix leadership.

Position Overview
The Investment Management Team at Publix plays a crucial role in assessing and managing the credit risk associated with a rapidly expanding investment portfolio. The Investment Analyst Intern is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of existing and potential corporate credit investments through a top-down approach. The Investment Analyst Intern will be tasked with evaluating the current and prospective macroeconomic landscape to identify emerging risks and potential opportunities.
What you’ll do
- Conduct sector-level credit research to identify macroeconomic, regulatory and industry trends that influence credit fundamentals across issuers.
- Develop top-down sector frameworks, including key drivers, business cycle sensitivities, competitive dynamics and rating implications across industries.
- Analyze relative value across sectors and curves to identify areas of opportunity or risk for investment positioning (i.e., energy vs. industrials).
- Monitor macro indicators and economic data releasees (inflation, rates, commodity prices, tariffs, economic growth) and assess their potential impact on sector credit profiles and portfolio positioning.
- Evaluate policy and regulatory developments (energy transition, tariffs, health care reform, etc.) and incorporate into sector risk assessments.
- Prepare sector outlook presentations and written research summarizing investment implications and relative value across credit markets.
- Collaborate with Investment Managers and Senior Investment Analyst to provide timely credit recommendations and assist in security selection.
- Contribute to team discussions.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Investment Management Policies prior to providing credit recommendations.
- Assist in ad-hoc projects that may include preparing reports and automating manual workbooks into excel and Bloomberg.
Required Qualifications
- Must be an actively enrolled student not graduating prior to the start of the Summer Internship Program in May; or
- If graduating from a bachelor’s degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester; or
- If graduating from a master’s degree program prior to the start of the internship, starting a graduate degree program in the upcoming summer or fall semester)
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics or related field and be a current junior or above (rising senior or above as of the program start in Summer 2026) or a graduate student
- Strong academic background with a focus in financial analysis, accounting or investment management.
- Demonstrated passion for finance and investment through coursework, personal projects or extracurricular activities.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret financial statements and analyze credit metrics.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate ideas and present research findings.
- Proactive with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in utilizing Bloomberg terminal for financial data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience through previous relevant internships in financial or credit analysis roles.
- Any relevant internships, projects or coursework related to credit research or financial analysis is a plus.
