The Accounting Systems team is looking for a detail-oriented, highly analytical Intermediate Software Engineer to join a collaborative team focused on enhancing already in production complex systems and creating technical enhancements for manual business processes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of full-stack development experience, demonstrate servant leadership qualities, and possess a desire to continuously learn.

Your Impact

  • Collaborate with business partners, product managers, QA, and engineers to ship high-quality, user-focused solutions
  • Design, build, and support software applications that keep systems running efficiently and reliably
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve defects and performance bottlenecks
  • Work within industry standards and controls (e.g., SOX) to support financially regulated systems
  • Improve application performance, resiliency, and scalability to support high transaction volumes
  • Review teammates’ code and contribute to a strong engineering culture focused on quality, maintainability, and best practices
  • Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for software, including architecture, APIs, and user guides

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related analytical field or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with .NET Core (or .NET Framework 4.0+)
  • 2+ years of full-stack web development experience using C#, MVC, Web API, and/or Entity Framework
  • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server, including writing advanced queries
  • 2+ years translating business requirements into scalable solutions in distributed environments
  • 1+ years building modern UIs with Angular, React, HTML, CSS, or JavaScript
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for planning, version control, and CI/CD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with .NET Core (or .NET Framework 4.0+)
  • 1+ years of experience with data/process governance and SOX compliance
  • 1+ years partnering with architects and engineers to design sound, scalable solutions
  • 1+ years supporting enterprise solutions using OO analysis/design, design patterns, UML, SOA, or similar frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Angular and Telerik UI
  • Experience with AI methods, models, and platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry, or similar

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
