Description
In House Maintenance Technicians are experts with building systems and industrial equipment, as well as three phase AC/DC power circuits which are used to power the warehouses. The Technicians read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. They use this information to repair and adjust machines or devices, install new equipment, and perform plumbing, carpentry, welding and cutting. Furthermore, they use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to generate and process the maintenance repairs performed.
One of the following positions is available: In House Maintenance Technician Class A, B, or C.
The position offered is contingent upon the qualifications and work experience of the candidate.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 20 years old
- Have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle (on or before his or her start date in the position)
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
- Ability to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, lift, reach, push, pull, climb, and crawl
- Ability to obtain certification and operate powered industrial equipment
- Ability to read, write, and solve math problems
- Successfully complete the following tests (before his or her start date in the position)

Preferred Qualifications
- Current Industrial Maintenance associate
- Have mechanical and diagnostic knowledge of powered industrial equipment
- Knowledge of warehouse plumbing
- Knowledge of ARC, MIG, and GAS welding and cutting
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Experience in building/industrial maintenance or a related trade
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Carpentry skills
- Working knowledge of D.C. voltage circuits and operational sequence of components
- Knowledge of electrical (A.C. and D.C.) theory

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
