Description

The purpose of this position is to analyze business processes, support the design and implementation of business application solutions, and support the Finance Project Team in improving efficiency, effectiveness, and control across Corporate Accounting. This role translates business requirements into well‑defined technical specifications and provides analytical insight throughout implementation efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supporting analysis, design, development, and implementation of approved automated solutions for Corporate Accounting areas using tools such as Access, Excel, Power Platform (Power Automate, Dataverse, Power BI), Databricks, and Snowflake
  • Providing ongoing technical support and enhancement for legacy business applications to ensure reliability, accuracy, and operational continuity including operationally critical Access databases used across multiple departments
  • Utilizing analytical tools and techniques to validate the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reporting solutions supporting Corporate Accounting
  • Supporting planning, monitoring, and execution of business application projects (new development and enhancements) by coordinating tasks and communication among business partners, team members, and Technology resources to support timely and accurate delivery
  • Supporting accurate and efficient use of Corporate Accounting business applications through training, documentation, and post‑implementation support

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or another analytical discipline OR
  • Associate’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Administration or another analytical discipline with at least 2 years business experience
  • At least 2 years of end‑user computing development, supporting technology solution implementations that translate business requirements into functional technical solutions as part of process improvement projects
  • Knowledge of business analysis (term definition, processes modeling, documenting controls, etc.) and translating analysis into system or process requirements
  • Technical knowledge of how to work with structured data (tables, views, queries, DDL vs DML)
  • Ability to self-direct work, take initiative, utilize available resources, and proactively follow tasks through to completion with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and apply new information, procedures, and business concepts to perform job responsibilities effectively
  • Proficient in data manipulation, analysis, and interpretation using complex formulas, macros, coding, and other analytical tools
  • Ability to challenge conventional approaches, generate innovative ideas, and develop effective solutions that improve processes, productivity, and customer service
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, analyze, and identify system malfunctions to determine the source and cause of the problem
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of SQL (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Access)
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI or comparable platforms)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a technical, business or accounting discipline
  • 5 years of end-user computing development, BI development, IT systems analysis, or IT systems development
  • Data Analytics Certification
  • Microsoft Power Platform Certification
  • Basic knowledge of Corporate Accounting functions and typical KPIs
  • Understanding of organization structure, such as IT vs business
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of Alteryx
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Planner
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Visio
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform
  • Knowledge of Azure Databricks
  • Knowledge of Snowflake

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
