Join our team in Associate Experience as the Manager of Associate Services, where you will be at the forefront of leading and inspiring a dedicated team to bring our company’s mission to life. The Associate Services team spearheads the strategic planning, design, and execution of key initiatives that celebrate and support our associates, such as service award programs, Retail Operations Conference, associate celebrations, Mr. George Community Service Award, and other prestigious company awards. They also play a crucial role in organizing company meetings and the Annual Stockholders meeting.
As a visionary leader, you’ll oversee the department, ensuring that each project is meticulously planned, executed, and finalized. Your ability to define objectives, manage risks, and maintain quality control will be essential in transforming innovative ideas into actionable concepts, driving company-wide projects from inception to completion. Responsibilities:

• Defining project scope, goals, deliverables and success criteria for the annual retail operations conference, companywide service award programs, company meetings, associate celebrations, the annual stockholders meeting, special awards and projects
• Managing the budget to support associate services programs and special projects
• Leading and facilitating cross-functional teams through the development and implementation of projects with internal departments (i.e., strategy support, RBUs, corporate travel, Publix technology, etc.) to support initiatives
• Acting as a point-of-contact and subject matter expert for vendors, leadership and internal departments on special projects related to Associate Services
• Leading a team of Associate Services Specialists and Associate Services Data Analyst’s that implement Associate Services initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, management, business or related field; or equivalent experience
• 5 years’ work experience in a corporate environment with 3 years of that experience in a project management role and 3 years’ experience in creating effective executive recommendation documents (for example, business plans, proposals, RFPs, etc. to officers) OR 3 years’ experience in event management (for example, current trends in the meeting industry relative to sites, speakers, entertainment, learning opportunities, production and stage design)
• Knowledge of Project Management Principles
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
• Ability to travel locally, including overnight stays

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management
• 8 years’ experience with Publix, with 5 years of that experience in a project management role and 5 years’ experience in creating effective executive recommendation documents (for example, business plans, proposals, RFPs, etc. to officers) OR 5 years of event planning and management (for example, current trends in the meeting industry relative to sites, speakers, entertainment, learning opportunities, production and stage design)
• At least 2 years’ experience in a leadership/managerial role (i.e., demonstrated ability to supervise and provide direction to others)
• Knowledge of industry costs to produce large scale events and obtain services and negotiate effectively
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
