Description
The Administrative Supervisor is responsible for the administrative and HR functions of the plant, which include:
- Executing the day-to-day administrative and HR functions of the department
- Staffing, managing, and training the direct report positions, including development, counseling, and performance evaluations
- Overseeing that the weekly payroll process is completed accurately and timely, including assisting the Time Administrator with TOR’s, TPASS and payroll functions when necessary and serving as a backup during absences
- Executing and administering Publix Corporate and Manufacturing policies, procedures, and guidelines,
- Training or notifying the General Manager and other plant management of new or revised policies and other Publix Corporate or Manufacturing communication
- Tracking, reporting, and analyzing HR related data on a routine basis and for special requests from plant management and/or Corporate Manufacturing
- Serving as plant contact to Industrial Operations Personnel, Policies, Pay and Time Team regarding HR related issues, including participating in or leading Manufacturing-wide projects
- Coordinating the Associate Voice Survey and semi-annual Mfg. Performance Evaluation Process for plant hourly associates
- Serving as plant contact to other Publix departments for HR/Administrative related issues
- Assisting in the scheduling, planning, and coordination of department meetings
- Driving improvement within the Administration Department
- Conducting new associate orientations
- Assisting the General Manager and other plant management on special projects
Required Qualifications
The required qualifications for this position include:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Excellent leadership skills
- Ability to evaluate and develop associates to be effective team members
- Excellent planning, organizational, and follow-through skills
- Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Structured Writing
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Ability to prioritize work, work under deadlines, and handle a high volume of work accurately
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability and desire to learn and take on new tasks
- Willingness to work flexible hours which may include extended periods of time, holidays and weekends
- Human relations skills (ability to work well with others and to be a team member)
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
- Show enthusiasm, initiative and pride in work

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in office management, including supervising people
- Knowledge of Publix Manufacturing policies and procedures and the ability to enforce said policies and procedures
- Working knowledge of Publix-based systems such as TPASS, TOR and KRONOS
- Knowledge of Publix’ hiring practices
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Access, including creating advanced spreadsheets and databases

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
