Merchandise/DSD Database Controller - Lakeland

The Database Controller is responsible for designing, developing and maintaining databases and queries to support Merchandise/Direct Store Delivery (DSD). This individual will also create ad hoc queries and evaluate solutions when databases or queries are not functioning during critical timelines as well as develop technical training/reference materials to support these efforts.

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining databases to meet operational needs of the Merchandise/DSD department
  • Responsible for enrolling and providing support for Dynamic Discounting through the Publix Accounting Portal
  • Responsible for providing software related technical support and immediate problem resolution
  • Responsible for validating data integrity within each system and developing complex queries, macros and reports
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in an Information Technology related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 years’ experience creating, designing and managing databases, creating macros, and creating and running queries within MS Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology related field
  • 5 years’ experience with integrated systems and experience in Corporate Accounting
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and controls relating to Merchandise/DSD Payables
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Knowledge of SharePoint
  • Knowledge of VBA code (Visual Basic for Applications)
Frequency of Pay Weekly Hours of Work Primarily Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Year End Bonus To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
