Java Developer – Pharmacy

In this position, you will be responsible for analyzing, planning, designing, building and supporting healthcare related applications and will participate as a developer by designing technical components, writing code, supporting project efforts and performing systems support.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with high volume, 24/7 transaction-based systems, including application performance optimization, build and deployment automation, database query performance optimization and be able to perform hands-on development, unit testing and implementation of new solutions, as well as support, maintain and enhance existing solutions.


Required Qualifications • Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science or other analytical discipline or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Java software developer using modern technologies in a large organization (or in support of a large organization)
• Must have experience with the following:
o Java 7 or Java 8 to code software solutions
o creating and consuming RESTful web services using Java
o JavaScript-based frameworks to code web user interfaces
o Maven or Gradle for dependency management
o Spring Framework, Oracle PL/SQL and Unix-like command shells

Must be willing to participate in team’s support rotation schedule that provides 24/7 support for systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of I/T experience in software design, development, delivery and experience with:
    • Angular to code JavaScript-based web user interfaces
    • Spring Batch Framework
    • using Jenkins for build automation
    • optimizing Oracle PL/SQL
    • Power Shell scripting to automate tasks on Windows workstations
    • Microsoft Active Directory Federation or CA SiteMinder
    • Xamarin for Android mobile application development
    • using a service management/problem management system (for example, HP Service Manager)
    • Microsoft SSRS Reporting experience
Potential Annual Pay with Bonus 75,530 - 113,880 Frequency of Pay Monthly Hours of Work Minimum 45 hours per week. Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.
