Interactive Designer, Marketing - Lakeland

Our Marketing team is looking for an Interactive Designer to design customer-centric user experiences and user interfaces for all Publix customer facing digital properties which include websites, mobile apps and in-store digital experiences. The Interactive Designer usually works under the guidance of an Interactive Art Director and partners with development teams and to produce web and app experiences that are practical, useful, delightful, and consistent with established design direction and the Publix brand.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • employs a user-centered design approach and rapidly testing and iterating design solutions
  • applies knowledge of front-end coding languages, content management systems back-end data structures, and Application Program Interfaces (APIs) to create practical UX and UI design solutions
  • partners with developers to ensure UX and UI design solutions work within the constraints of chosen technologies
  • designs user journeys that deliver on marketing, business, and brand objectives
  • creates user flows, wireframes, mockups, pixel perfect comps, and prototypes that deliver intuitive user experiences
  • creates user interface design elements (the visual elements of the design) to support and expand established user interface design strategy
  • builds out design systems which include style guides, comps, templates, reusable design components, and other design artifacts as needed to guide creative and development teams in building, editing, and maintaining our apps, web sites, and kiosks and
  • develops low- and hi-fidelity prototypes for user testing and business evaluation.
Required Qualifications Associates degree in Graphics/Communication field or equivalent experience
  • at least one (1) year of experience as a Designer or equivalent experience, with emphasis on User Experience and User Interface design
  • design principles, tools, processes, and techniques
  • basic knowledge of front-end development languages and techniques (HTML, CSS, Java Script, Jquery, etc.)
  • intermediate knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS) and Mac OS
  • intermediate knowledge of Industry standard design software; Adobe Design Suite, Sketch, Flinto, InVison, Keynote
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • emerging technologies and trends in digital and interactive communication channels
  • design process and digital workflow
  • basic animation skills
  • advanced skills in visual design, typography, and composition
  • skilled in wire framing and prototyping
  • excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
  • willingness to be flexible with working late and/or weekends and
  • willingness to travel as necessary including overnight stays
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts, Design, Digital Design, or Arts
  • two (2) or more years of experience as a Designer with emphasis on User Experience and User Interface design
  • Content and Brand Strategy
  • Publix Marketing department workflow processes and project lifecycles
  • department and company organizational structure including roles and responsibilities of key associates (contacts) and
  • Corporate and Marketing guidelines, policies and procedures.
Frequency of Pay Weekly Hours of Work 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, Flexible. Travel Frequency 10% Year End Bonus To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
