Business Development Manager, Presto! Network/Payments - Lakeland

The purpose of this position is to oversee the Presto! Network and increase the value to Publix, customers, and financial institutions. This is accomplished by selling the Presto! services directly to potential financial institutions (FIs), which will require regular travel including overnight, by managing the relationships of current Presto! Network financial institutions and providing customer service, training, and technical support to Presto! members.

This position is involved in setting the direction and strategy for the Presto! Network through strategic initiatives that impact business areas, customers, and Publix. Responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing the sales and operations of the Presto! Network (PIN debit network owned and operated by Publix)
  • Identifying through analysis and recruiting new Presto! financial institutions (FIs) through one-on-one visits, digital media, or other marketing channels
  • Onboarding new FIs as Presto! members by negotiating and finalizing the Presto! agreement along with coordinating the activation with Information Systems, third party processors and EFT Accounting
  • Ensuring Presto! continues to be best in class by staying current with the industry, innovating, and implementing new services which financial institutions and customers desire
  • Managing current relationships with Presto! members/Processor/Gateways and developing new relationships with credit union leagues and other networks to maximize the value and profitability of Presto!
  • Producing an ATM income statement and analysis which explains the net operating profit of the ATMs, Point of Sale interchange impact and net benefit of the Presto! Network
  • Identifying impact to Presto! Network from legislative and regulatory changes and providing strategies based on the impact
  • Providing strategic direction for Presto! and business advisory support for Information Systems (I/S), Customer Payment Strategy team, EFT Accounting, Customer Service RBU, Marketing and other Business Areas
  • Identifying and analyzing technology innovations or technology changes which could impact the strategic direction of the Presto! Network then develop alternative strategies based on the impact
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of relevant experience in a sales management and/or relationship management role
  • Knowledge of sales/marketing principles, methods, and tactics
  • Financial knowledge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and creativity
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Information Technology
  • Strong leadership and the ability to assemble and manage an effective team

Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters’ in Business Administration (MBA)
  • 15 years of relevant experience in a sales management and relationship management role in the financial technology/services industry
  • Network Security Compliance for PIN and Key Management Certification
  • Business and technical knowledge of debit network industry
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations, including Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards and Regulation E
  • Knowledge of Banking Industry
  • Knowledge of current and upcoming payment technology
  • Knowledge of Publix strategy
  • Expert skills in Salesforce/CRM software
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Advanced skills in ArcGIS Geoportal (or similar geographic marketing tool)
Potential Annual Pay with Bonus 96,330 - 144,560 Minimum Base Pay 7,410 Maximum Base Pay 11,120 Frequency of Pay Monthly Hours of Work Minimum of 45 hours per week. Primarily Monday - Friday. Travel Frequency 20% Year End Bonus As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month’s extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year.
