Business Analyst - Transportation, Business Analysis & Reporting

Join a dynamic and motivated team of analysts in the Finance team at Publix! The Business Analyst for Transportation provides operational and financial reports and analysis to various department managers within the transportation business area.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • identifying relevant data from several systems, including Oracle, Teradata, and SAP, for specific logistics information
  • generating, updating and analyzing several reports and scorecards for transportation business areas within Distribution
  • validating data and KPIs for reasonableness against historical trends and demonstrating knowledge of the business functions being measured
  • maintaining and running Visual Basic code which produces the reports
  • creating ad-hoc analyses relating to distribution cost and/or service as identified by Senior Leadership
  • developing new metrics and providing analytical support for the transportation business areas and other consultants as needed
  • analyzing and producing analysis summaries at a high level for the Transportation Business Development managers, Director of Transportation & Maintenance, and the Vice President of Distribution
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting or another analytical discipline or equivalent business experience or
  • Associates degree in Finance, Engineering, Accounting or another analytical discipline with at least two (2) years business experience or equivalent or
  • High School Diploma with at least four (4) years analytical business experience
  • intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office; Excel
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Office; Access
  • knowledge and understanding of financial, accounting, and general business concepts
  • excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
  • strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and researching skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in an analytical discipline
  • two (2) or more years of analytical experience in KPI reporting and operational management
  • knowledge of major Publix systems and the inter-relationships of those systems
  • knowledge of various Publix business functions
Frequency of Pay Weekly Hours of Work Monday - Friday, flexibility required for varied hours Travel Frequency 10% Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
