8473BR 01-Feb-2019 Lakeland, FL between Orlando and Tampa Do you have stellar writing skills? Do you have a passion for telling a story? As a Bilingual Copywriter on the Creative Team at Publix, you’ll maintain the brand voice by writing engaging and original material across various channels.
The Bilingual Copywriter develops copy, aligning with Publix’s creative strategy, in both English and Spanish. This includes proof reading material submitted for review before final publishing, and effective translation of copy generated by others. The Bilingual Copywriter reports to the Manager of Creative Ad Production.
Additional responsibilities include:

  • writing effective copy and performing accurate translation for consumer-directed communications (i.e., circular newspaper inserts)
  • reviewing and proofreading drafts of communication pieces
  • developing creative approaches while reflecting the Publix brand
Weekly 24.20 33.40 Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Communications or related field, or equivalent experience
  • at least two (2) years of experience translating and writing English and Spanish advertising copy
  • knowledge of advertising and marketing
  • excellent bilingual writing skills
  • deep knowledge of English and Hispanic grammar, punctuation and spelling
  • knowledge of retail environments and purchasing behaviors
  • research skills, including computer skills
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • strong time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or related field
  • four (4) or more years of experience translating and writing English and Spanish advertising copy
  • knowledge of Publix brand positioning
  • knowledge of Publix departments, services, and products
Frequency of Pay Weekly Hours of Work 42.5 hours per week. Year End Bonus To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
