Electronic Component Maint. Technician Class A, PM - Atlanta

  • performing a number of functions on a variety of industrial electrical and electronic components according to company policy; National Electric Code; federal, state, and local building codes; repair manuals; factory specifications; blue prints; schematics; and his or her own knowledge of the industrial electrical and electronic components
  • teaching and assisting other associates and
  • assisting in other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • be at least 20 years old
  • have a valid driver’s license and authorization to drive a company vehicle on or before his or her start date in the position
  • ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
  • ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds
  • ability to read, write, and solve math problems
  • successfully complete the following tests before his or her start date in the position

  • ability to interpret, understand, follow and communicate instructions
  • Associate of Science degree in electronics or have completed an approved electronics technical course
  • at least two years of work experience as an electronics technician or an electrical control technician
  • ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, PLC logic diagrams, electronic systems schematics, and technical manuals
  • ability to use a multi-meter, signal generator, oscilloscope, and a lap top computer
  • knowledge of A.C. and D.C. electrical theory, and how to apply Ohm’s law to practical applications
  • understanding of the proper application of electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, transformers, rectifiers, fuses, thyristors, triacs, diodes, transistors and integrated circuits
  • capable of creating and processing work orders within a computerized maintenance-management system
  • ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • ability to supply your own hand tools and maintain them to accomplish daily duties
  • ability to work well with others and function as a team member

Preferred Qualifications
  • current Industrial Maintenance associate
  • previous experience in one of the following programming languages, C+, C++ , Visual Basic, or PLC Programming
Minimum Base Pay 30.20 Maximum Base Pay 41.65 Frequency of Pay Weekly Hours of Work 4:00pm - 12:30am; Rotating days of the week, every other weekend off Travel Frequency 0% Work Environment Temperatures could range from 20 degrees below to 90 degrees Fahrenheit for an extended period of time. Year End Bonus To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay. Weekend Differential: A $2.00 per hour weekend differential is paid to associates for hours worked between 12:00 a.m. Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
