- Associate of Science degree in electronics or have completed an approved electronics technical course
- at least two years of work experience as an electronics technician or an electrical control technician
- ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, PLC logic diagrams, electronic systems schematics, and technical manuals
- ability to use a multi-meter, signal generator, oscilloscope, and a lap top computer
- knowledge of A.C. and D.C. electrical theory, and how to apply Ohm’s law to practical applications
- understanding of the proper application of electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, transformers, rectifiers, fuses, thyristors, triacs, diodes, transistors and integrated circuits
- capable of creating and processing work orders within a computerized maintenance-management system
- ability to work independently with little or no supervision
- ability to supply your own hand tools and maintain them to accomplish daily duties
- ability to work well with others and function as a team member
