Description
Publix is looking for a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team to help keep our retail stores in top condition. In this role, you’ll assist the Divisional Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Team Leader, and Maintenance Coordinators by managing day-to-day service requests and supporting special maintenance projects. You’ll play a vital part in maintaining store interiors and exteriors, ensuring operational efficiency, and contributing to the successful implementation of corporate initiatives. Responsibilities include:
- Evaluating and performing general maintenance repairs on the interior and exterior of the retail facilities
- Providing support to Maintenance Coordinators and Project Coordinator
- Performing housekeeping duties such as maintaining vehicle inventory, keeping vehicles clean, and reconciling phone bills, credit statements, and other paperwork
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or its equivalent
- One year basic knowledge of general maintenance (i.e., roofing, carpentry, plumbing, cabinetry, electrical, building construction)
- Valid Driver’s License
- Basic knowledge and understanding of building envelopes and how best to make repairs
- Basic knowledge of building, fire and ADA codes
- Ability to analyze information and data
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a group of people
- Computer skills (MS Office, Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Willingness to work flexible hours and extended travel with overnight stays
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant coursework in Maintenance or Construction Disciplines (i.e. electrical, mechanical, plumbing) from a vocational/trade school
- Two years working in a general maintenance/construction field (i.e., roofing, carpentry, plumbing, cabinetry, electrical, building construction)

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
