Description

  • Processing the Benefits department’s incoming mail, including opening, scanning and delivering
  • Processing department’s outgoing mail and outboxes
  • Completing requests from Benefits’ associates for hard copy files and beneficiary cards
  • Verifying and researching returned mail
  • Managing Benefits’ documents and records in offsite and local storage for records retention purposes

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience and
  • One year of office or customer service experience
  • Ability and willingness to adjust one’s style or approach in response to differing circumstances or to work in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to work effectively without close supervision or guidance
  • Ability to manage time so that the priority of the activities determines the timing and amount of attention they receive
  • Ability to attend to and verify the accuracy and completeness of detailed information in documents or on the computer
  • Ability to create an environment in which a positive and professional service orientation is evident to internal customers
  • Ability to use “active listening” techniques to ensure the understanding of information provided by the speaker
  • Ability to base decisions on facts, knowledge and experience to recommend changes to processes
  • Ability to work within and contribute to a cohesive team with the end goal of associate satisfaction and issue resolution
  • Intermediate skill level with SAP, READ and Retirement HOST systems
  • Basic skill level in the Stock Management System
  • Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of office or mail room experience
  • Knowledge of the Publix benefit plans
  • Knowledge of the Barcode generator, scanner, scan manager, and ViewStar
  • Knowledge of department equipment
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November.
In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check.
In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
